Red is a prominent background character in Paper Lily and acts as the 'main objective' which Lacie is working towards to try and fix her curse. Red is first mentioned by Rune who is found as Red's treehouse where Rune tells Lacie that Red is someone who lifts curses. Million also mentions Red referring to them as 'that one' They are mentioned again by Spider who says that they visit Miss Knives on a regular basis to check up on her relating to her own curse.
Within the safe path out of the forest and to the lakeside, The Prisoner can be found and was placed there by Red presumably due to the prisoners ability to place curses without either dying themselves or the curse causing them to die thus letting them act as an opposition to Red who removes curses.
