Red is a prominent background character in [[Paper Lily]] and acts as the 'main objective' which [[Lacie]] is working towards to try and fix her [[curse]]. Red is first mentioned by [[Rune]] who is found as Red's treehouse where Rune tells Lacie that Red is someone who lifts curses. [[Million]] also mentions Red referring to them as 'that one' They are mentioned again by [[Spider]] who says that they visit [[Miss Knives]] on a regular basis to check up on her relating to her own curse.

Within the [[safe path]] out of the forest and to the lakeside, [[The Prisoner]] can be found and was placed there by Red presumably due to the prisoners ability to place curses without either dying themselves or the curse causing them to die thus letting them act as an opposition to Red who removes curses.

Other than the above not much is truely known about Red within Paper Lily [[Chapter 1]]

Three-Room Ritual

The '''Three-Room Ritual''' is one of the rituals within the [[Golden Envelopes]]. This ritual and its consequences are the plot of the prologue of [[Paper Lily]], '''''[[Project Kat]]'''''. It spirits the user away to a hallway of doors.

==Instructions==
<pre>
You must play alone.
Requirements:
- 3 dark, adjacent rooms.
- 12 candles.
- A lighter or matches.
- A rune.
- A tuft of human hair.
- White chalk or white paint.
Preparations:
Start after the sun has set.
All 3 rooms must be pitch black; turn of all the lights, draw the curtains, and close the doors.
Using chalk or paint, draw a path going through all 3 rooms. This path will serve to connect your current location to your destination.
In the middle room, place 6 candles in each side of the drawn path parallel to it.
Instructions:
Light each of the candles and let them burn for at least 5 minutes. From this point you can no longer abort the ritual.
After 5 minutes has passed, burn the tuft of hair on one of the candles.
Proceed to blow out all the candles one by one.
When the last candle is put out, quickly close your eyes and count to 100.
Open your eyes.
To Remember:
You must always close the door behind you. Leaving it open may attract unwanted attention.
Do NOT let the rune out of your possession. It is your only protection.
DO NOT bring any weapons with you. If you arm yourself so will they.
Should anything be heard or felt while you count to 100, it must be ignored.
Do NOT open your eyes.
Do NOT turn on the lights.
It is normal to feel like you are not alone. You won't be.

Of note is that the point of no return for this ritual seems instead to be once the chalk/paint is placed and the rooms are dark (in game you can tell once you have reached the point of no return by the disappearance of the girls. However from this point despite escape being impossible, it is not the the demon which ultimately kills Kat it is instead the lack of food/water as she dies in the infinite staircase.

The likely use of rituals in the story is that of collecting souls, many books and a couple characters (within the facility found in dead end 4) make reference to this fact with most of it coming from the [[Library]] found with the repaired doorknob fragments. Within this Library it is revealed that the rituals are in fact a way for demons to collect souls for them to feed on and the [[Glen]] is likely in charge of whatever organisation in putting out the ritual letters (this organisation is almost assuredly [[The Council]]).

Many of these letters can be found in Project Kat once [[Kat]] finishes her ritual and begins interacting with the world her ritual takes her to, the letters made reference to in Project Kat refer to the following rituals:

Hiro is a major supporting character in ''[[Paper Lily]]'' and is the brother to the game's protagonist ''[[Lacie]]''. He is an outgoing and caring older brother for Lacie and the two have a good relationship with each other despite Lacie being 'cursed'. He is present for the first portion of the game and appears later through a phone call Lacie makes to him.

Miss Knives is an antagonist of [[Chapter 1]] of ''[[Paper Lily]]'' and acts as the final boss of this chapter of the game. Towards the end of chapter one's story as [[Lacie]] attempts to escape the facility her and [[Sai]] find themselves trapped within Miss Knives' house where, after loitering in the living room, they are both trapped inside cages which Lacie escapes from through currently unexplained means involving one of the games dream sequences. From there Lacie meets up with ''[[Spider]]'' who explains how the two must break Miss Knives' illusion in order to escape her house. From here Lacie and Sai do that and on the way learn of Miss Knives past and the experiments performed on her before a boss fight occurs and the two escape leaving Miss Knives behind in the facility in what is now revealed to be her cell, not her house.

==Personality==
Miss Knives herself is a broken and traumatised demon born/created from a child who was burnt during one of the Witch trials which occurred in the past. This trauma is further emphasized by the experiments which were done upon her to explore her power as a demon to create illusions and build upon it. She is shy most of the time and now avoids people as a whole likely due to her past interactions with them both in life and during her time as a demon.

==Backstory==
Before becoming a demon Miss Knives was, in life a girl born blind to two parents and lacking any siblings. Despite her disability her parents love for her made them keep her and try to raise her as a normal child. Miss Knives lives with this condition for many years and makes a friend during this time, ''[[Iris]]'' Miss Knives and Iris oft play together at the river bank and Iris enjoys Miss Knives presence despite her disability and finds joy in telling her all about the wonderful and amazing things which exist around them. It is during this time that the two make a promise to run away once they turn 14 (although Miss Knives is not completely on board with this as she enjoys her simple life). It was after this that Miss Knives' experiences her '''first blessing''' as she simply woke up one morning able to see and was initially very happy about this despite now being able to see the middling situation she lived in. However due to her eyesight just suddenly returning many of the villagers and even her own parents became cold towards her as she was now seem as some mystic outcast and even Iris admitted she was nervous around her (though still overjoyed at her friends new sight)

After this Miss Knives would receive her '''second blessing''', a sketchbook from her friend [[Iris]] which Iris had stolen from her family. However, many strange drawings which Miss Knives was not responsible for would appear within its pages. These were not pleasant either, being described as 'painted in black' and 'twisted and scary'. After this her life would return to (mostly) normal until her '''third blessing''', her mother was sick and in an attempt to save her Miss Knives held a cold compress to her forehead and managed to unknowingly heal her of her ailment through mystical means. The townspeople, seeing her mother up and well again so quickly, accused her of witchcraft and burnt Miss Knives' mother at the stake, an event which Miss Knives herself would witness. From here her bullying would continue, culminating in a group of boys stealing her sketchbook, seeing the drawings within and destroying it, it is her that her '''fourth blessing''' would occur leading to a proper manifestation of her mystic powers and causing her to destroy one of the boys legs, in the process getting ousted as a witch and losing her friend Iris as Iris' father forbade them from meeting.

From here the final chapter of Miss Knives' living life would begin as her family home was broken into and she was to be burnt as the stake as a witch with her father dying with her. Her father instead attempted to claim that she was not his child to no success before he was killed. Miss Knives was then in her cell when her '''fifth blessing''' would come in the form of a knife which her friend Iris had brought for her to kill herself with, not before revealing that Iris had in fact told her father about Miss Knives being a witch in the hopes of him protecting her, not realising that the opposite would in fact occur. Miss Knives initially does not do this and is instead eventually burnt at the stake in front of her village, however this fails after burning her legs as she receives her '''sixth blessing''' which comes in the form of a fire which kill the other villagers and burns the village down. Seeing this and realising that Iris is likely dead, Miss Knives decides that it was all because of her eyesight coming back and her other blessings that this all started and so she stabs her eyes out, killing herself in the process.

'''Sai''' is a major character in ''[[Paper Lily]]''. He is first seen on the bus in [[Chapter 1]] and later in the facility once ''[[Lacie]]'' has escaped her cell, where he joins the party until the completion of Chapter 1. It is likely that he was the user on the [[Devil’s Eye Forums]], where Lacie found the [[Bus Ritual|ritual]], with the 'good reputation' who said to get off the bus prior to it arriving at its final destination and thus helps Lacie avoid death within the [[Facility|meat facility]].

== Personality ==
He is somewhat unserious and has minimal respect for his own life, but is knowledgeable about the world of [[Chapter 1]]. He also seems to care for those around him and how they treat themselves shown through his final interaction with [[Lacie]] at the end of Chapter 1, telling her to get rid of her 'things to do before I die list' and instead replacing it with a 'things to do once you get fixed list' and despite how clumsy he is about telling Lacie this, it does show that he cares at least whether she thinks she should live or die. Additionally, although it would be incorrect to say that he cares not for his own life, he does seems quick to brush away the fact that both he and Lacie nearly died several times simply because it was 'fun' although for someone experienced with the other world as he seems to be this may be more normal.
